At IntInt GmbH, we are committed to protecting your privacy. This page outlines how our website operates in compliance with the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and other applicable privacy laws. We believe in a privacy-first approach – our site is designed to collect minimal personal data and avoid unnecessary tracking. Below is a comprehensive overview of our website’s data protection measures, structured according to key areas of GDPR compliance.
General Information
• No Contact Forms or User Accounts: Our website does not use any contact or registration forms. We do provide a simple email link (mailto) for you to contact us. Clicking the email link will open your email client so you can reach out to us directly. This means we do not collect any information through web forms – any personal data you choose to send us (e.g. your email address or name in an email) is provided voluntarily by you via your own email program.
• No User Accounts or Comments: We do not offer user account registration, login areas, comment sections, or product reviews on our site. There are no features that allow users to input personal data on the website itself. Consequently, we do not store any account information or user-generated content.
• No Newsletter Subscriptions: We do not have a newsletter or any subscription service. You will not be asked to provide an email address for a mailing list, and we will not send you any promotional emails. The only time we might collect your email is if you initiate contact with us for inquiries or support.
These design choices ensure that simply browsing our site does not require you to disclose any personal information.
Hosting and Technology
• Hosting Provider: Our website is hosted by Ionos, a reputable hosting provider based in the European Union. All data related to our website (e.g. the website content and any incidental data like server logs) is stored on servers located in the EU. We do not use any external cloud databases or storage outside of our hosting provider. This means your data is never transferred to data centers outside the EU when you browse our site, enhancing compliance with GDPR’s data transfer requirements.
• Content Management System: The site is built using a combination of WordPress (a content management system) and custom code. We continuously update and maintain our CMS and plugins to ensure security and privacy. The use of WordPress does not in itself collect personal data from visitors; it simply helps us manage the site content. We have also removed or disabled any WordPress features that might collect user data (for example, the commenting system is disabled since we have no comment sections).
• No External Databases: Our website does not connect to any external databases or third-party data storage services. Any data used by the site (such as text, images, or static resources) is stored on our own server. We do not offload user data processing to any external cloud service.
Our choice of a European hosting provider and local infrastructure is part of our commitment to keep your data protected and within jurisdictions with strong privacy laws.
Cookies and Tracking
• No Non-Essential Cookies: We do not set any cookies on your browser when you visit our site. Cookies are small text files that websites can store on a user’s device. Many websites use cookies for tracking or personalization, but we have designed our site to function without them. Because we don’t use cookies (aside from possibly a strictly necessary cookie for basic site functionality, if any), we do not display a cookie consent banner – no consent is needed since we aren’t using any cookies that require it. In other words, we don’t use tracking or advertising cookies at all, and we only would ever use a cookie if it is essential for the site to work (currently, we have none even for that purpose). This means you can browse our site without worrying about cookie tracking or pop-ups asking for cookie consent.
• No Analytics or Tracking Scripts: Our website does not use Google Analytics or any similar analytics or tracking service. Many sites use analytics tools to monitor visitor behavior, which often involves setting cookies or sending personal data (like IP addresses or user identifiers) to third parties (e.g., Google). In our case, we have opted not to use any analytics platforms at all. This decision is in line with recent regulatory guidance – for example, some EU authorities have found that using Google Analytics can violate GDPR due to data transfer to the US. By not using these tools, we ensure that your personal browsing data (such as which pages you visit or your IP address) is not transmitted to any external analytics provider.
• No Other Tracking Technologies: We do not employ any other tracking technologies such as fingerprinting, session tracking, or heatmapping on our site. We do not track your clicks, mouse movements, or scrolling behavior beyond what is necessary for the website to serve pages to you. Your IP address and browser information are not used for profiling or tracking. The only minimal data that might be processed is in our server logs (see below), which are used purely for security and technical purposes.
• Server Logs: Like all web servers, our server automatically records requests made to the website. This means that when you visit, the server may log information such as your IP address, the page requested, date and time of access, and your browser type. These server logs are standard and are used only to ensure the security and stability of the site (for example, to detect and prevent malicious activity) and for troubleshooting errors. We do not use log data to identify you or to combine it with other data. Server logs are kept secure and are typically auto-deleted after a short period. They are not shared with any third parties and are accessible only to authorized personnel managing the website.
Overall, our site operates cookie-free and tracker-free. There is no profiling of visitors and no personal data analytics – your visit remains private and untracked.
Third-Party Services and Embedded Content
We avoid using third-party services or embedded content that could send your data to external providers. Here are the steps we’ve taken:
• Local Font Hosting: We use custom fonts (including Google Fonts) that are hosted locally on our servers, not fetched from Google’s servers. This is important for privacy because loading fonts from Google could expose your IP address and browser info to Google. By serving fonts locally, no data is shared with Google when loading our site. This approach has been recommended to ensure GDPR compliance for typography on websites.
• No Embedded Maps or Videos: Our website does not embed content like Google Maps, YouTube videos, Vimeo videos, or OpenStreetMap. Such embeds often load content from external servers (Google, YouTube, etc.) and can place cookies or track users. We currently have no such map or video iframes on our site. If in the future we include a video or map, we will ensure it is done in a privacy-friendly way (for example, using privacy-enhanced mode for YouTube or offering a link instead of an embed) and update our policy accordingly.
• No Social Media Plugins: We do not use social media plugins (e.g., Facebook Like buttons, Instagram feeds, Twitter widgets, LinkedIn Share buttons) on our site. These social plugins often send data back to their platforms even if you do not click on them (just by loading the plugin). By not including them, we prevent Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, etc., from collecting information about your visit to our site by default. We may simply provide plain links to our social media pages (if any) instead of interactive widgets. Clicking those links will take you to the respective platform, but we do not load any code from social networks on our site.
• No reCAPTCHA or External Widgets: Since we have no forms, we do not use Google reCAPTCHA or similar spam prevention tools (which would otherwise involve sending data to Google). We also do not embed any chat widgets (like Tawk.to, Crisp, HubSpot chat) or any external calendars/booking widgets on our site. There are no third-party comment systems or external content feeds. Everything you see on our website is served directly by us.
• No External APIs or Data Transfers: Our site does not make background requests to external APIs that would transfer your data off-site. For example, we do not pull content from external content delivery networks (CDNs) or third-party databases while you browse. All scripts and libraries used for the site’s functionality are stored locally on our servers – we don’t load them from providers like Google, CDNJS, or Cloudflare. This ensures that your browser isn’t quietly contacting third-party servers when you access our pages.
By avoiding external integrations, we keep your visit as isolated and safe as possible. In practical terms, when you load a page on our site, your browser communicates only with our server, and not with a dozen other companies’ servers. This significantly reduces privacy risks.
Newsletter and Email Communications
• No Newsletters or Marketing Emails: As noted, we do not run a newsletter mailing list. We will never ask you to sign up for a newsletter, and we won’t send you any unsolicited emails for marketing purposes. You will only hear from us if you initiate contact or if it’s directly necessary to respond to your request.
• Email Inquiries: If you contact us via the email link provided on our site, we will receive whatever personal data you include in your email (such as your email address and any information in the message). We will use this data exclusively to respond to your inquiry or request. Your email and its content will be treated confidentially. We do not add your address to any mailing list, nor do we share it with any third parties. We only retain the email correspondence for as long as necessary to fulfill the purpose of communication (for example, answering your question or providing a service you requested). After that, we delete the emails in accordance with our data retention practices.
• Double Opt-In and Tracking: Since we don’t send bulk emails or newsletters, concepts like double opt-in (confirmation emails for subscription) do not apply. Similarly, we do not use any email tracking for opens or clicks, because we send no marketing emails at all. If you email us, rest assured that we aren’t tracking anything beyond handling your email in our inbox.
In summary, any communication is initiated by you and handled on a one-to-one basis. We value your contact and will not use your details for any purpose other than addressing your needs.
Other Tools and Features
We have ensured that no other features on our website compromise your privacy:
• No Online Booking Tools: We do not integrate any scheduling or booking tools (such as Calendly or other appointment schedulers) on our site. If in the future we offer appointment booking, it will likely be via direct email communication rather than a third-party service, unless that service meets our strict privacy criteria.
• Local Resources (No External CDNs): All stylesheets, scripts, and fonts used by our site are loaded from our own domain. We avoid using external Content Delivery Networks (CDNs) or third-party libraries hosted elsewhere. For example, if our site uses a common JavaScript library or a web font, we have stored those files on our own server. This way, when you visit our site, your browser does not need to contact any external host to retrieve these files, preventing leakage of your IP or browser info to outside parties.
• Plugins and Add-ons: Our website uses a minimal number of plugins/add-ons, and we maintain a list of all of them (to be provided in our site credits or imprint). None of these plugins process personal data about visitors. They are mainly used for site appearance and functionality (for instance, design elements or behind-the-scenes administration) and not for collecting user information. We continuously review our plugins to ensure they do not introduce any privacy issues. If a plugin does require processing personal data, we will either configure it to disable that feature or we will not use such a plugin at all.
• Data Processing Agreements: Since we do not engage external processors for visitor data (no analytics providers, no external newsletter services, etc.), we generally do not have Data Processing Agreements with such third parties. The only relevant third party in the context of data processing is our hosting provider (Ionos). We ensure that our hosting provider is GDPR-compliant. (Ionos, like all major EU-based hosts, provides GDPR-compliant terms and data processing agreements for their customers’ websites.) Aside from hosting, there are no other services where your personal data is processed on our behalf.
If we introduce new features or tools in the future that may affect privacy (for example, if we decide to add a web form, analytics, or embed new content), we will update this privacy overview accordingly and, if necessary, obtain proper consent for any new cookies or tracking. Our goal is to remain transparent and up-to-date with privacy compliance.
Data Security and International Transfers
• Data Security: We take the security of our website and any personal data very seriously. The site is protected with SSL/TLS encryption (HTTPS), meaning that all data transmitted between your browser and our server is encrypted in transit. You can verify this by the padlock icon in your browser’s address bar. Encryption helps prevent unauthorized parties from intercepting data during your browsing. Additionally, our website and server are kept up-to-date with security patches, and we employ standard security measures (firewalls, access controls, etc.) to prevent data breaches.
• No Data Transfer Outside the EU: All website operations are handled within the European Union. We do not transfer your personal data to any country outside the EU/EEA. Our servers are located in the EU (through our host, Ionos), and we do not use any US-based or other foreign cloud services that would require moving your data overseas. This means your data is protected under European data protection standards at all times while using our site. Recent rulings by European data protection authorities have highlighted risks in transferring personal data to countries like the United States without adequate protection. By keeping data in the EU, we avoid these issues altogether and add an extra layer of safety for our users.
• Data Minimization: We adhere to the principle of data minimization. In practice, this means we only collect and retain the minimum amount of data necessary for the operation of the site or for serving you. If you simply browse our site, we collect virtually no personal information (other than the transient technical data in server logs as described above). If you contact us, we limit the information to what you provide and what’s needed to help you. We do not ask for or collect extraneous data.
• Anonymization/Pseudonymization: Since we collect almost no personal data, there is generally no need for additional anonymization. However, any incidental usage data (for example, aggregate visit counts derived from server logs) is looked at only in anonymized form. We do not attempt to identify individual visitors. We also do not profile or analyze personal data, so concepts like pseudonymization (masking identities in data sets) are not applicable in our case.
Your Rights and Contact Information
Even though our website minimizes data collection, if any personal data is processed, you have certain rights under the GDPR:
• Right of Access: You have the right to request a copy of any personal data we might hold about you and information on how we use it.
• Right to Rectification: If we have information about you that is inaccurate or incomplete (for example, your contact details in an email inquiry), you have the right to ask us to correct it.
• Right to Erasure: You can request that we delete any personal data we have about you. Since we generally do not store personal data from website visits, this mostly would apply to data you provided to us (such as an email you sent). If you wish that to be deleted, we will certainly comply, provided we are not legally required to keep it.
• Right to Restrict or Object: You have the right to restrict our processing of your data or object to certain types of processing. Again, since we do very minimal processing, this is typically only relevant to something like an email communication. You could, for instance, object to us keeping your contact info, and we would then delete it.
• Right to Data Portability: If you had provided us personal data, you could request to receive it back in a commonly used format or have it transferred to another party. In practice, the typical scenario (if any) would be you emailing us and wanting a copy of that correspondence – which you already have.
• Right to Withdraw Consent: In the rare case that we ever process your data based on consent, you have the right to withdraw that consent at any time. (Currently, we don’t process any data based on consent because we aren’t collecting data in the first place beyond your queries.)
• Right to Complain: If you believe we are violating your privacy rights or GDPR, you have the right to lodge a complaint with a supervisory data protection authority in your country. For example, in Germany this would be the state Data Protection Authority, and in other EU countries you can contact your local authority.
To exercise any of these rights or if you have questions regarding your data, please contact us. Since we have not appointed a separate Data Protection Officer (not required given the limited scope of data processing on our site), you can direct your inquiries to IntInt GmbH directly:
